what is a good neighbor garden?

there are three pillars that make up a good neighbor garden.

the first is born from a deeply rooted sense of community and abundance from my grandparents backyard kitchen garden. Their garden was productive enough they would preserve as much as they could and still share with family, colleagues and neighbors all summer long. what good neighbors 😇

the second purpose of a good neighbor garden is to be an extension of your home that gives back to you. in a world that is always taking from us - taking your attention, your time, your peace. a good neighbor garden gives back to you and expects nothing in return. delight, respite, peace and abundance. something we all could benefit from.

the final branch of a good neighbor garden is to provide to your ecosystem. the traditional lawn and garden provides almost no ecological value to our native bugs, birds, critters or even the soil under our feet. i think you’ll find when you rebuild your landscape to reflect the ancient meadows that were once where your house was, you’ll notice just how much life flutters around your yard.

i’ve always been drawn to nature and gardening. even when i lived in my first apartment i tried (and surely failed) to grow lettuce from my windowsill. over the years i’ve volunteered at river cleanup events, noxious weed pulling events at conservation sites, maintaining an urban rain garden. i deeply care about this stuff.

i would be honored for the opportunity to help shape your yard, your shared HOA areas, or business into a purposeful, thoughtful and delightful space.
